about a.b.
Following their passion for science, the humanities, and service, a.b. found a career in nursing, both as a med/surg RN and an educator. a.b. developed a particular knack for the coordination of interdisciplinary care for patients with complex conditions.
At age 30, with an 18-month-old at home, a.b. was diagnosed with stage IIIb rectal cancer.
One year later, a.b.’s care shifted from active treatment to surveillance. While a.b.’s oncologic outcomes and prognosis remained excellent, their general health and quality of life continued to decline. a.b. and their family struggled for years to understand and manage the long-term effects of their chemo, surgery, and pelvic radiation. Ultimately, it took a.b.’s unique multidimensional background and skills to find a way not only to disrupt the downward spiral, but to heal.
a.b.’s story resonates with folks of all backgrounds. They delight in collaboration and enjoy tailoring their content to the audience and occasion.
a.b.’s mission is to help providers and patients alike find the healing that is possible when we recognize our common ground.
